GTA 6 Weapons: The Three Rockstar Has Actually Named
A Hawk and Little Morgan revolver, Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17. Everything else on every weapons list you have seen comes from the 2022 leak.

Rockstar has named exactly three weapons in Grand Theft Auto VI, and all three appear in the edition and pre-order material rather than in any gameplay reveal. That is a very short list, and it is considerably shorter than the twenty- and thirty-item weapon tables circulating elsewhere.
| Weapon | Named where | Detail given |
|---|---|---|
| Hawk and Little Morgan revolver | Ultimate Edition content | His and hers versions, sourced from the Vercetti Estate, palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing, high-performance scope |
| Girardi ES9 pistol | Ultimate Edition content | Jason's sidearm; a personalised engraved variant is included |
| Klose K17 pistol | Ultimate Edition content | Lucia's sidearm; a personalised engraved variant is included |
| An unnamed submachine gun | Vintage Vice City Pack | Described only as carrying a tropical weapon pattern |
The Vercetti detail is the one series fans will notice. Rockstar says the Morgan revolvers are 'sourced from the Vercetti Estate' - a direct reference to Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of the 2002 Vice City, dropped into a product description rather than a trailer.
What the naming convention tells you
GTA weapon manufacturers are recurring fictional brands, and two of the three names here are new. Hawk & Little has appeared across the series since GTA IV; Girardi and Klose have not, which means Rockstar has expanded the armoury's fictional supply chain rather than reusing it wholesale.
That is a small thing that carries a real implication: named manufacturers usually indicate a weapon family rather than a one-off, because the brand exists to be applied across several items.

What is genuinely visible in screenshots
Beyond the named three, the press library shows weapons without identifying them. It is worth separating what you can see from what you can name.
- An assault rifle carried by Jason at night, with a distinctive light-coloured furniture finish.
- A gold-finished pistol levelled across a convenience store counter in the robbery frame.
- A scoped long-barrelled revolver, matching the Morgan description.
- A patterned submachine gun on a car seat alongside cash.
- Two decorated semi-automatic pistols, matching the ES9 and K17 variants.
That is roughly five distinct silhouettes. Any list longer than that is drawing on the 2022 development leak, where weapon files were visible in a build that predates the finished game by years.
Weapon lists sourced from the 2022 leak are the single most confidently wrong category of GTA VI content online. Development builds contain placeholder assets, cut items and internal test weapons. Presence in that build is not evidence of presence at launch.
The customisation angle
Every named weapon appears in the form of a cosmetic variant - engraved, patterned, etched. That is a consistent enough pattern across all three that it says something about how Rockstar is presenting weapons.
| What this supports | Confidence |
|---|---|
| Weapon finishes and patterns exist as cosmetics | High - three separate examples |
| Weapons are tied to specific characters | Moderate - the ES9 is Jason's, the K17 is Lucia's |
| There is a weapon customisation shop | No evidence |
| Attachments like the scope are player-fitted | No evidence - the scope is described as part of the item |
| A weapon wheel or inventory exists | Unshown; no HUD has ever been published |
The second row is more interesting than it looks. Jason and Lucia having distinct named sidearms suggests weapons may be character-specific rather than shared, which would be a departure from GTA V's common inventory. Rockstar has not said this - the inference comes entirely from two product descriptions.

The weapon locker
One further detail comes from an unexpected place. Rockstar's description of the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay - included with the Ultimate Edition - says it features "a weapon locker, plus a secure place to deposit stolen goods to be fenced".
A weapon locker implies weapon storage separate from what you carry. Fencing implies a stolen-goods economy. Neither system has been described anywhere else, and both are named in a single sentence of edition copy.
What is still unknown
- How many weapons are in the game.
- Whether weapons are shared between protagonists or character-specific.
- Whether attachments can be fitted by the player.
- How the weapon locker works, or whether non-Ultimate players have one.
- Whether there is a gun shop, and what it is called.
- Anything at all about gunplay feel, recoil, or targeting.
Where the leaked weapon lists come from
In September 2022, roughly ninety clips from an internal development build were published without authorisation. Those clips, and files circulated alongside them, are the source of essentially every comprehensive GTA VI weapon list online.
| Why that source is unreliable | Detail |
|---|---|
| Age | The build predates the finished game by over four years |
| Two delays followed | Both attributed by Rockstar to additional work |
| Development builds carry placeholders | Assets present for testing are routinely cut |
| Internal names are not final names | Working labels frequently change before release |
| Loadouts in test scenes are arbitrary | Weapons appear because a developer spawned them |
None of that means the leaked weapons are absent from the finished game. It means their presence in a 2022 build is not evidence about a 2026 release, and lists presented as fact are asserting something their source cannot support.
What GTA V's armoury looked like, for scale
For a sense of what a plausible final count might be, GTA V shipped with roughly two dozen weapons in single-player at launch, across a small number of categories, and grew substantially through GTA Online updates afterwards.
- Melee, from fists through improvised objects to bladed weapons.
- Handguns, including a small number of variants.
- Submachine guns and machine pistols.
- Assault rifles and carbines.
- Shotguns, pump and semi-automatic.
- Sniper rifles.
- Heavy weapons - rockets, grenade launchers, a minigun.
- Thrown items - grenades, sticky bombs, molotovs.
GTA VI has published three named weapons and roughly five distinct silhouettes. If it follows the same shape, the visible material represents a small fraction of the eventual armoury - which is exactly why the gap gets filled with invention.
The one thing the named weapons genuinely establish
Every named weapon is a personalised variant of something. The Morgan revolvers are described as "his and hers", the ES9 is Jason's, the K17 is Lucia's, and all three are engraved or etched versions rather than base models.
| Implication | Strength |
|---|---|
| Base versions of these weapons exist in the game | Strong - a variant implies an original |
| Weapons can carry cosmetic finishes | Strong - three examples |
| Protagonists have distinct default sidearms | Moderate - stated for both, mechanic unstated |
| Finishes are earned, bought or applied | No evidence for any of the three |
That first row is the useful one. If Rockstar sells you an engraved Girardi ES9, an unengraved Girardi ES9 almost certainly exists for everyone else.
Unknown. Rockstar has named three and shown roughly five distinct silhouettes. Any complete list you see is derived from the 2022 development leak.
The Hawk and Little Morgan revolver, Jason's Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia's Klose K17 pistol - all in Ultimate Edition descriptions.
Yes. The Morgan revolvers are described as sourced from the Vercetti Estate, referencing Tommy Vercetti from the 2002 game.
Cosmetic variants exist as edition content. No customisation system has been described.
They have different named sidearms in the edition material. Whether that reflects a mechanic has not been stated.
