Only Raw Records: Dre'Quan Priest and Real Dimez

Three of the six named supporting characters connect through one record label. What that suggests about how GTA 6 structures its side content.

Of the six supporting characters Rockstar has named, three belong to the same organisation. Dre'Quan Priest runs Only Raw Records. Real Dimez - the duo of Bae-Luxe and Roxy - are signed to it. That is half the published supporting cast tied to one label, which is not the distribution you would expect from a list of unrelated contacts.

Why the concentration is interesting

Rockstar reveals supporting characters sparingly, and each reveal costs marketing space. Spending three of six slots on one organisation suggests the label is a location or strand you spend meaningful time with, rather than a single contact who hands out missions. Compare it to how GTA V's marketing distributed its supporting cast across unrelated figures - Lester, Trevor's associates, the FIB - each representing a different thread.

He's signed Real Dimez to the label, but it'll take a joint effort to leverage their potential into an Only Raw Records hit.
Rockstar's framing of the Dre'Quan / Real Dimez relationship

Read carefully, that sentence describes an objective with a stated obstacle and an implied collaborator. It is not how you describe scenery. Whether it becomes a mission strand, a business system, or a story thread is unknown - but Rockstar wrote it as something that has to be achieved.

Music in Grand Theft Auto, historically

Music has always been infrastructure in this series - radio stations, licensed soundtracks, in-world DJs. What has been rarer is music as a subject rather than a backdrop. GTA V had a handful of music-adjacent characters but no sustained industry thread. A named label with a named owner and a named signed act is a step beyond anything the series has done with the music business before.

  • Radio and licensed soundtracks - a series constant since GTA III.
  • In-world artists as cameos - occasional, usually one-off.
  • A named label with a business objective - new for GTA VI.

What we are not claiming

We do not know that Only Raw Records is a playable business, a property you own, a mission chain, or a progression system. None of that has been said. What has been said is that a label exists, who runs it, who is signed to it, and that turning the signing into a hit is framed as something requiring effort. Everything past that is inference, and this section exists so the inference is not mistaken for reporting.

Articles describing an Only Raw Records 'business management system' are inventing a mechanic from a character description. Rockstar has described relationships, not systems.

The label's stated situation

Rockstar has given Only Raw Records something it has given almost nothing else in GTA VI: a goal. Boobie Ike's description ends "now they just need a hit".

Why a stated goal is unusual

Across the eight named characters, Rockstar describes situations rather than objectives. Only two entries contain something the character is actively trying to achieve: the label needing a hit, and Raul recruiting for bigger scores.

In a game whose synopsis describes a conspiracy the protagonists are caught inside, a supporting cast with its own stated ambition is a reasonable indicator of side content - though Rockstar has described no mission, activity or system attached to any of it.

No music-industry mechanic has been announced. There is no confirmed studio management, no track production, no touring and no label progression. What exists is four characters, a label, and a sentence about needing a hit.

DWNPLY, the character with no page

Rockstar names one more figure in passing: DWNPLY, a local rapper whose early single with Real Dimez took them to new heights. He has no character page, no screenshots and no further mention.

Named characters without pages are worth tracking - Lori, Brian Heder's third wife, and Wyman, the collector behind the project-car commission, are the other two. All three exist only inside a sentence about somebody else.

Is Only Raw Records a business you can own?

Not confirmed. Rockstar has described it as Dre'Quan's label, not as player property.

Are Real Dimez based on real artists?

Rockstar has not said. They are presented as fictional characters within the game's world.

Will there be original music from these characters?

Not announced. Rockstar has not discussed the GTA VI soundtrack at all.

Do the protagonists work for the label?

Unclear. The framing implies collaboration but does not describe the nature of the relationship.
